E-mail offers that work!
I never cease to be impressed by the topical
emails that hit my in-box from Jodie McGregor Flowers in Sydney.
They are always a great demonstration of how good
an email marketing effort can be. Whenever the time is right to give
flowers... Christmas, Valentine’s Day, Mothers Day, Springtime, etc
I know to expect these convincing sales efforts.
And I do so with an eager dribble of anticipation
running down my chin!
You see these promotional pieces are not just a
trite sales pitch... they are interesting, written in easy to read
language (like they are talking to me), laced with piquant humour,
spiced with lots of pictures and making great offers, almost
irresistible in fact.
Now I know that you may not live within the areas
that Jodie services but read the emailing to get a few ideas on how
you can create great emails that really work.

P.S. And a thought occurs to
me... I buy flowers a lot but how many other florists from whom I
have purchased have e-mailed me an offer for Mother’s Day gifting.
Yep, you’re right... nil, zip, P.P.S.1
By the way, have a
look at this nice little touch and the way it’s worded... No credit
card fees! Payment by either or your approved corporate account. And of course we
don’t charge any card fees, because we think it’s not too cool to do
so.
P.P.S.2 I’ll let you into a
little secret! Jodie doesn’t write them coz she
sticks to what she is good at... floristry.
Jodie’s husband, Stu, writes them and he’s good
at it. He’s a former banker.
Just think how good the bank’s marketing efforts
would have been if he were still there and allowed to do the
marketing! Have a f-a-n-t-a-s-t-i-c day...
