Another TV commercial

As you are probably aware Kiwis take their rugby very seriously and with the World Rugby Cup to be held in NZ coming up soon you can imagine excitement is at fever pitch. To maintain their focus on winning the cup the All Black players were counseled to abstain from sexual congress before matches to preserve their stamina. Telecom NZ obviously thought that moral support from the general population was important and made a TV commercial promoting abstinence during the period of the Cup, approx 6 weeks. It starred a former All Blacks Captain (all of whom are gods), Sean Fitzpatrick, to make the point. Unfortunately the wowsers and mother grundies in NZ didn’t like it and so it was hauled off air very quickly! What do you think… great fun or disgusting?

      Agree with you there Graeme, so many more entertaining ads out there – what a waste of their advertising budget!

    Not the best ad I’ve seen but considering the audience it would have worked for the Kiwis

    The choice of audience was wrong. Had this been directed at Australians this would have neen a rousing success. Kiwis are somewhat more sophisticated

    It would at least work better if the cup was in Europe and every one was up late watching it on TV. Just like I do every year for the tour de France

    Neither. It was too tame to have any punch. A missed opportunity to really get the wowsers bleating and the rest of us very amused.
