Proofreading – Again!

My PA, Eswen, got her water bill not long after my recent post Getting proofreading right, and it seems as though this well known utility company missed the reminder! I’m sure someone would have been kicking themselves when they realised this mistake was posted out to all their customers. Although, how many of us read the fine print on our bills anyway?

    Either the bottle is full or it isn’t! Don’t understand how you can get more in to a full bottle of water! But they seem to manage it with getting more charges into the bill!

    As someone who teaches proofreading (and editing) as income-earning skills, I know there is a never-ending stream of work to be done. The older the proofreader is, the better. Why? Because the younger generation don’t care about correct English and we grey-beards still do. Keep pointing out errors. Some seeds will fall on fertile ground. Long live NZIBS.co.nz
