Virgin Australia are pretty cock a hoop about changes they’ve made to upgrade the experience when you fly with them. As they say in their promo to their frequent flyer members “Last year, we made it our mission to put the magic back into flying. And we’ve come a long way since then. So on that note, we’re thrilled to share our new commercial.” You can see it here
Now whilst that commercial has, according to Virgin, been produced by the greatest in the advertising and commercial making game, using all the creative talents of the people who know and the services of many of the Virgin team, do you really think it makes you believe that things have changed and got even better? More to the point, does it make you want to fly with them?
I reckon they gave better “reasons why” in their note that introduced the commercial. For example here are just some of the things they’ve done and could really talk about in the commercial (although they’d claim that their effort does it)…
- transformed the look and feel of our aircraft
- upgraded the airport terminals
- introduced new wide-bodied Airbus A330 aircraft on flights from Sydney and Melbourne to Perth
- launched Business Class on domestic routes
- enhanced the Velocity Frequent Flyer program with unique benefits
- added a Platinum membership tier
- created an worldwide network of over 500 destinations
- introduced innovative services for our premium guests
- one thing hasn’t changed, our people
And I’d emphasise that last point. I reckon Virgin has always been known for their happy, smiling, no problems team.
