I’ve often mentioned my good friend, Rowena McEvoy, the inspirational speaker and (along with her husband Kerry) founder of the Maxx International College for Fitness Professionals!

Well, I loved her new year message and checklist so much I’m sending it to you in its entirety. By the way, I felt ten foot tall with the compliments she paid me.

Even though the year is well on its way it’s not too late to adopt some (or all) of her suggestions to make your new new year an even better one.

A fun Rowie checklist to help make 2013 staggeringly superb…

…Your BE HAPPY Checklist …

1. Say Thankyou for everything
2. Think three times before pressing send or posting anything on social media
3. Be fit and strong and healthy and NEVER use excuses not to be!!
4. Buy 2 teddy bears-one to keep and one to give away to the person in your life who will love it!
5. Return your emails fast and always with a fun or positive message
6. Send more hand-written notes than emails
7. Do the ironing before there is a huge pile
8. Have BIG goals-if you don’t want much you won’t have to do much or become much!!
9. Do it TODAY-tomorrow is for procrastinators!!
10. Always make your bed and if you stay in a hotel-strip the bed and tidy the room before you leave
11. Never eat food you don’t like-even if you think it will help you lose weight. Eat food you Loooove and enjoy it!!
12. Always give a compliment to every person who serves you
13. Never push in
14. Hug more often than you shake hands
15. Be the best dressed person wherever you go
16. Never squabble over the bill-if you can’t pay for the most expensive menu item and all the courses, don’t go!!
18. Kindly ask the negative people in your life to remove themselves
19. Dance more-even if it is around the lounge-room in your pyjamas
20. Only say things/email things/post things that you would want reported on a Current Affair TV program as an example of being a superb human being
21. Drink more water
22. Sing loudly in the shower
23. Never ask to be taken off a data-base-just add the unwanted email address to your blocked senders list or just press delete
24. Never go to sleep without brushing your teeth
25. Buy some sexy gumboots; Get out in the rain more, jump in puddles and get muddy
26. Walk up the stairs, pretend there is no escalator
27. Give away your close parking spot and park the furthest away from where you are going
28. Make love more often and with the light on
29. Never get grumpy and especially not at the person who cannot help you or change what has happened
30. Pick a healthy weight and stick with it from now on!! Throw away all the other clothes sizes, all of your diet books and all the stupid exercise machines you have wasted money on. Choose to eat and move with logic and common sense and be healthy for the rest of your life!!
31. Laugh at all jokes-even if you have heard them before!! The joke teller needs your support and YES, you can laugh at a joke more than once!!
32. Never settle for average, mediocre, 2nd best or “normal”. Have, be, do, and Give your BEST-always!!
33. Never have a job you hate!! Life is tooooo Loooooong to not have a career you love!!
