It’s worth going on YouTube to find the great commercials from John Lewis and have a look at their commercials which really work well for them. The company is unusual because it is the UK’s largest employee co-owned business, with 84,700 employees who are all Partners. The Partnership aims to ensure that everyone who works for it enjoys the experience of ownership, by sharing in the profits, by having access to information and by sharing in decision-making through the democratic process.

This has been a good year for the Partnership with growth in sales and profit above expectations and the 84,700 Partners received a bonus of 17%, equivalent to nearly 9 weeks’ pay.

Targetted at women, this commercial would have cost heaps to run on TV coz it’s 90 seconds. So it was probably used on the web in the hope that it’d be shared around. It brought a joyous tear to my eye and so I reckon it would have worked well.
