Now almost everybody loves to be remembered on their birthday even if they claim they don’t. It’s nice to have people wish you happy birthday and it’s even nicer to be remembered with some sort of gift.

So that’s a marketing opportunity for any person in business, no matter what sort of business. Remember people are people and so chief executives and postboys and everyone in between love having their birthday remembered.

So that’s why I was delighted to get the happy birthday wish letter below from Vintage Cellars and even more thrilled by the $10 gift voucher. As a matter of fact I’m up near their store today giving blood, so afterwards I’ll call in and spend some money to make sure I get my $10 of happy birthday wishes. (I did and got the 10 bucks knocked off two beautiful bottles of Clare Valley Riesling.)

If you’re not recording the birth days (not years) of clients customers and patients you should be! Then you can start wishing them a very happy birthday and accompanying it with a great surprise! Incidentally, it’s surprising how many business people tell me that they do collect birthdays but, if the number of wishes I get from businesses is any indication, then precious few actually use them.

It’ll work so well for you, you’ll think all your birthdays have come at once!
