You know my day starts well because I always tell myself I’m fantastic, but I’ve found another way to make it even better. And the beaut part is, that in so doing, I make somebody else’s day.
So when I’m having a cup of coffee, walking to my car or trundling around a supermarket, and I see someone in uniform like an ambo, a fireman or an SES volunteer, I always wander up to them and say “G’day! I just want to tell you that you guys do a great job.”
And it’s amazing the reaction I get. They are always pretty stoked that I’d bother to tell them that and, of course, life is a boomerang, when I get a great reaction then it gives me a great reaction. I know they feel good, and so do I.
Of course, you could extend this to everyone you meet and tell them they’re doing a great job. You’ll be amazed at the great job it does on you.
