Remember my recent blog when I told you I reckoned that the movie “The Wolf of Wall Street” was a great sales training film (providing you take out the drugs, the sex, the booze, the immorality, etc)? Well Jordan Belfort, the Wolf, is doing a tour of Australia and NZ in June. I’m not getting any payment for this… the promoters wouldn’t even know I’m recommending that you go see him. I’d be there with bells on but I’m overseas when he’s scheduled to be here. Now sure I know he did time and all the rest but the fact is that he’s a great salesman and apparently can teach others to do it. Remember he taught ordinary guys how to sell to the top 1% of wealthy Americans! I reckon you can learn something about selling from him. Details of his tour are here.
And remember my favourite quote from Frank Bettger of ‘How I Raised Myself From Failure To Success’ fame… “show me a person who earnestly and enthusiastically tells their story to 4 people every day and I’ll show you a very successful salesperson”? Well I reckon Belfort underlines that idea in this clip.
