Sometimes you see a commercial where the creative team have fallen deeply in love with the concept and have forget that the purpose of the commercial is to sell the product. Here’s a case in point. The idea was probably to tell the story of barrel ageing and how it improved the colour, the aroma and the flavour of the bourbon so it’s a much better tipple than the competition products where it doesn’t get the same barrel treatment or ageing. But when they shot the commercial (in Australia apparently) they got so carried away by the folksy, deep south setting that they forgot to tell us why “barrelling” is good and what the benefits are to make us choose that brand the next time we buy bourbon. Make up your own mind here.
