My PA, Felicity the miracle worker, discovered recently that her bank had launched an App to use for mobile banking. Here’s what she has to say about it…
Having often logged into their website “on the go”, naturally I downloaded it straight away and it’s certainly quicker and easier than accessing their website.
But there was one feature that totally bamboozled me!
When I click on my account, I would expect to see a list of recent transactions which is very handy when I’m waiting for a payment to arrive, or want to check an outstanding transaction has gone through before I spend the current balance.
The only thing is I don’t get a list of transactions. Instead I get a graph which shows the ups and downs of my account balance for the last 30 days. It looks really pretty, but what the heck is the point of it?
We reckon they started off with a great idea but somehow lost the plot along the way.
The message is obvious! Keep sight of what you are aiming to achieve, don’t complicate it on the way and at all times keep it simple.
The “how’s things?” call is one of those techniques every businessperson should use. It works beautifully for anybody who is serious about making their business successful. In fact, if you’re not using it you should be. Want to learn more? Buy Winston’s downloadable discussion on the “How’s Things?” call here. “Part of the Winno’s Wise Words series”.
The Aussie banks have had the system in NZ for a few years now. All the features you refer to are in the app so they must be using a ‘new Aussie’ version for you guys. Nuff said!
