According to an article by Cheryl Cagle featured in Today @ Target Marketing, Tuesday was the most popular day for sending emails last year, with Thursday a close second, according to a review of emails received by Who’s Mailing What! (WMW!)  Both days actually dipped slightly compared to 2013 – Tuesday from 17.8 percent of all emails in 2013 to 17.4 percent in 2014, and Thursday from 17.6 percent in 2013 to 17.1 percent this year – but still held the top overall spots.

The dip for those two days could be attributed to more emails being sent on the weekends in 2014 (17.5 percent of all emails compared to 15.7 percent in 2013). The spike in weekend emails could be partially attributed to the mid-term elections, as political fundraising offers made the top five categories list for both Saturday and Sunday.

Wednesday ranked third last year, with 16.7 percent of the weekly emails in 2014, followed by Monday (15.9 percent) and Friday (15.4 percent).
