I’m sure this commercial never aired on free to air television but it most certainly would have done the rounds of cyberspace where it would have had great appeal to a macho male audience.
And it seems to have worked a treat. According to online financial journal www.recode.net the Venice, California-based company launched in 2012 with their video starring Dubin (the owner) that has been viewed more than 19 million times. Since then, the company has mixed smart social-media campaigns with traditional TV advertising to build a real business.
The company generated $19 million in revenue in 2013, $64 million in 2014, and is projecting at least $140 million this year, Dubin said. It now has more than two million subscribers, who receive razor blade shipments every month or every other month.
The “how’s things?” call is one of those techniques every businessperson should use. It works beautifully for anybody who is serious about making their business successful.
