I was in the lovely Hobart, Tasmania one Sunday morning a few months back and spent some time having a coffee and reading the Sunday Mercury when I came across this great double page advertisement.
From the name of the store (or stores rather) to the layout of the advert to the interesting copy that tells the story to the display of sale items this advert just conjures up a beaut picture of a grocer you’d want to do business with. It’s obviously a delightful food store and I bet its customers love it.
Quite simply, the advertisement distinguishes it from the big boy supermarkets and conveys the personality of the stores. It certainly makes it look like a place you’d want to shop even if you do get the feeling they may be slightly more expensive than the competition. In fact, I think you’d willingly pay more if their service matches the tone this advert conveys here. Their web site is worth a look too.

Hill Street truly is a great place. I live in Auckland NZ [where Cups reside) and visit my daughter in Hobart. She takes me to Hill Street. The only problem is the jostle for for position. A little like a rugby scrum !!!!
