Heather Fletcher writing in a recent edition of Target Marketing magazine says that research done in the USA by Experian Marketing Services during the last quarter of 2015 suggests that you should:
- Send during the early morning, because transactions surpass email volume then. Specifically, between midnight and 4 a.m. is the greatest gap benefitting email marketers. Between 4 and 8 a.m. and from 8 p.m. to midnight more customers are buying than marketers are marketing. However, the least advantageous times for marketers are during the 8 a.m. to noon window.
- Send on Weekends and Mondays, because transactions (customers buying) outpace email volume (marketers marketing), too. That means marketing can stand out in the inbox.
Of course, it is American experience but as we parallel the USA in so many areas I have the feeling the results would be similar in Australia.
