I’ll prey on your good nature and ask your forbearance if you remember this article from a couple of years ago but I think it’s worth a rerun.
Recently I was talking to a guy who had a job interview coming up and he wanted a few tips on what he should do prior to going. I gave him some, one of which he initially thought was strange advice.
“Go and have your teeth cleaned, have a great hygiene appointment. Have it done an hour or two before the interview,” I told him. When he asked why I replied, “I reckon that it gives you a real lift to have bright, white teeth… teeth that are so clean you can feel the (normal) gaps between them. You feel good and can’t stop smiling”.

He did and he said he felt great. He felt even better when he got the job! I don’t know whether the teeth were the reason but it sure as heck didn’t hurt!
And an observation about me and my teeth! I can’t get over what a difference having my top teeth crowned (cosmetically enhanced!) has made to my smile. I’ve always thought that I never looked good in photos… my smile always looked terrible. Since I’ve had my teeth done, without realizing it or consciously trying to smile better, my smile has improved markedly as I hope this picture shows. It only goes to prove what we say when we’re talking about personal motivation… look good and feel great! Forgive me for including a picture of me to illustrate and, yes I’ll agree, I’ve got a great face for radio!
Winno, that’s one of the sharpest, truest, images I’ve ever seen.
