I’ve prattled on before about the advantage of having good signage and, in particular, I have a fondness for great A-frame signs. Especially if they are well located so that people see their message.
They can be used to point out where your business is so people can find you easily or you can use them to make a great offer resulting in more business.
Here is one on a busy road near me which I think works gangbusters.
Work less, charge more and have your customers loving it!
Marketing Magic
It’s an offer for something that many people want and can’t seem to easily get a tradesman to do for them. Some tradesmen would laugh at this offer and the prospect of going out to do just one power point but this canny electrician knows that, once he’s at the job, there will be lots of other little electrical problems the homeowner will need fixed. With a bit of suggestive selling the average sale could be quite high.
Sure, the sign could be improved by having red print on a yellow background but, I notice as I drive past, that is good enough to catch the eye of any driver in any of the three lanes of traffic. And of course it’s on a commuter route so, if someone doesn’t get the phone number the first time, they’ll get it the next.
On the same busy road is this A-frame for a chiropractor which would certainly help people find them. However, I reckon the world is divided into two groups… people who love chiropractors and people who don’t. The first group probably have their own chiropractor and move only rarely so the sign won’t get much of that business; the second group need to be sold a benefit to induce them to even contemplate trying a chiropractor.
As it seems that half the world has a bad back (and the other half of the world knows somebody who can fix it). I reckon the sign would generate new patients if it read “Crook backs fixed here!” with an arrow pointing in the direction of the office. Note too, that I always spell the message out in the vernacular… English as she is spoke… so people don’t have to figure it out!
Great signage in the right location and with the right message can be worth big dollars to any business.
