I was out with the dogs the other day trying to get my steps up to the level to receive a gold star when I passed a cafe with a wonderful sign outside. I think you’ll agree “Hot yummy breaky” is pretty inviting. Yes, sure, “hot breaky” is good but I think that extra word makes a world of difference. I reckon it would be better to say “Yummy hot breaky” coz it rolls off the tongue much better but that’s just a matter of opinion and probably splitting hairs.
What I really am going for is the use of more lovely descriptive words to make what you write or say much more meaningful and persuasive.
If you enjoy a beer and are driving in the country on a hot day I reckon that big sign outside a country town promoting a pub with something like “Juicy steaks” is always very inviting and gets the juices flowing. Add the phrase “Icy cold beer” makes it irresistible and you just have to pull into that pub for a counter meal.
Yes, descriptive words will work very well for food but they work in other places as well.

Don’t just be an accountant rather be an “Innovative accountant” or the “Non-boring accountant” and it’ll bring in heaps of business.
Don’t just be a dentist rather be a “Caring Dentist”.
Try putting ‘expert’, ‘authority’ or ‘specialist’ in front of whatever title you have or say you do and notice the difference it makes.
“Electrical specialist” comes over well and “Expert Mechanic” has a nice ring to it (although “Honest Mechanic” might work even better!)
Don’t stop there either!
Maybe you should put one of those words after what you say you do. For example you could be a “Marketing Guru”!
