Although maybe it makes absolute sense to its creators, of course, and thus I am stupid. But I think not.
This rather dark advert ran in a Melbourne metro newspaper, and doubtless in other cities, at great cost. Obviously, the copywriter believed his thoughtful words (what are they all about?) would have people piling on planes or queuing up to board the ferry and make tracks to Tasmania.
But would they? In the absence of great reasons to go, why would you?
And yet the advert could have waxed lyrical about Tassie’s many attractions… great restaurants, fantastic wines, warm and comfortable accomodation, exciting tourist spots, etc. Without having a vested interest in promoting Tasmania I know how good it is to visit any time of the year.
So, why not tell people about them… and give them great reasons why!
This ad is so dumb I did not know till the end again copywriters trying to be clever not
You’re dead right! What in the heck is the copywriter talking about? Glad you agree with me!
This is SO bad. The photo sucks too. Who the heck approved this?
I ask the same questions too and wonder whether the advert would actually discourage people from visiting.
