In a couple of recent articles I’ve shared great marketing ideas I have seen as I travel around the country and, as I promised to share more, here’s another good’un!

Naturally there are the good, the bad and the ugly… some ideas cost heaps and produced disappointing results; others have cost little yet worked gangbusters.

Here’s another I spotted outside a veterinary practice that could easily be adopted and adapted for any other type of business.

The A-frame

This sign is placed on the nature strip outside a veterinary practice on one of the busiest commuter routes in Melbourne. Traffic speeds by but this smart business has resisted the urge to cram a ton of words on the A-frame. Rather they’ve said just enough to get a message across.

Full marks too for the colours they’ve used… colours that get attention (not the passive, hard to read blue on white that most vets waste money on). Does it pull people in? Betcha! After all, if you can’t be seen you can’t be found!

There are so many businesses that should ensure they have great A-frame signage outside their premises or at the entrance to a shopping centre, or out the front of the site they are working at or whatever.

Just make sure that the graphic, the words and the colours all work toward grabbing people’s attention!
