If you’ve been reading Winstons’s ezines or blogs for a while, then you’ll have heard him mention RYLA, the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards. This is a program for young people run by Rotary International, with a focus on developing leadership in youth.
What he doesn’t always mention is his own long standing involvement in the program locally as a speaker, as well as regularly speaking at various Rotary gatherings.
In recognition of the positive difference his support and difference has made over the years, he was recently made a Paul Harris Fellow. This honour is given “in appreciation of tangible and significant assistance given for the furtherance of better understanding and friendly relations among peoples of the world.”
Given Winston’s innate modesty (cough cough), I am sharing this on his behalf.
Felicity Walker, Miracle Worker.
A well deserved honor…. Well Done Winno…”Fantastic”
Cheers,… Mal~
Congratulations Winno. As a Rotarian, I ran the RYLA course for 2 years over here for our District. I am not in Rotary any more. It’s great to see Rotary recognise your contribution.
RYLA is one of the great programs Rotary does. I’m glad you have had your contributions recognised. Well done
I remember 20 years plus ago, your speaking at a Mark ? dentist seminar and you mentioned shedding buckets of weight and doing a sub 3 hour marathon. You have achieved so much and have been so willing to share your knowledge with us all. I’m 73 (younger than you) and send your “More great news” to my near 40 year old children overseas. Your message is old BUT it works.
Thankyou for your energies
Thank Alan and much appreciated. May you and yours enjoy a great Christmas and the new year bring you all the bountiful blessings for which you could wish plus have a f-a-n-t-a-s-t-i-c day… Winno
