A mate asked me the other day whether I reckoned that testimonials were still of any value.

Well, I was so surprised, amazed and incredulous that I almost choked on my coffee (which I was drinking standing outside a warm café in the freezing cold due to lockdown)! How could anybody ever, ever query the greatest marketing device known to savvy marketers?

Then I thought about the question a little more as I slowly sipped the rest of my coffee carefully, lifting my now coffee sodden face mask to achieve that feat (remember I live in metro Victoria!). And, after a little serious reflection, it occurred to me it was a valid question coz it seems that in this digital age many people may have forgotten the power of testimonials.

But, let me remind you what people typically do when they go to the web as a first step in finding a product or service. They may google for what they want which typically gives them a range of providers.

But that doesn’t really help, in fact it only adds to the confusion of choice, so they quickly visit a few of the sites looking for something to help them make a decision.

And I’ll bet that, in lots of cases, a prospect finding something like this…

Will most probably choose to view the reviews which leads them to seeing something like this…
