Way back in July, I wrote an article waxing lyrical about how important testimonials are in any advertising you may be doing. I promised to explain how a flyer that landed in my letter box could be easily improved by the addition of a few pithy testimonials.

The time for that article is now!

Below you will see the front and back (hard to tell which is which, not that it matters I guess!) of a flyer dropped in my letter box by a roof restoration company.

Now, I can’t say there’s much wrong with the flyer but in a later article I may talk about some improvements that could increase the response.

But what it cries out for is a couple of genuine testimonials that address the concerns many people have about these sort of industries.

Current affairs programs often have stories about elderly people getting ripped off by merchants like this… oldies paid their money and the tradespeople disappeared.

So a couple of obviously genuine testimonials (location of a recent job, name and phone number of client, etc.) would work gangbusters!

They turned up on time and did exactly what they promised. My son was amazed at the great workmanship)

You’d reckon they’d take the worry out of hiring this company wouldn’t you?

Testimonials… the breakfast food of champions!
