I’ve known my great mate, Max Hitchins, for a heck of a long time and admired his unbridled passion for, and knowledge of, all things Melbourne Cup. For instance, he can name all the cup winners since the inception of the race.
Now, that may not be important, but he has a great record of picking the winner of the big race.
He nominates a group of 5-6 possible winners and then, at the last moment on the morning of the race, emails his final selections.
That is if you’ve bought a copy of the current year’s edition of his “Pick The Melbourne Cup Winner” which I do religiously.
