So often I see signage that is complete wasted either because the graphic is some form of ego trip (like a real estate agent’s face or a picture of the product) or is just a “pretty picture,” there are too many words or the message doesn’t make sense. In fact, there’s just nothing that grabs your attention or rams home a simple message.
Here’s one I saw on the back of a bus that really works. Great photo… who doesn’t love a duck family? Great message… simple, short and sweet.
If you were following that bus it’d certainly get into your brain and maybe influence you to support a ban.
Dunno how effective bus advertising is but I suppose it is priced attractively against all of its opposition alternatives.

You, WINNO the GREAT, said something like; Your BIG name a small address and contact number or email.
Trouble is nobody listens. Furthermore, how many internet sites tell you the wonders of their appliances and how their service is SO GOOD why should consider anther place. On my recent journeys through the net looking for a camping fridge freezer, I endured so much guff and no address where I might have been able to pick the fridge up myself.
The story gets more interesting. Searching for the Evakool fridge, I found all prices well within cooee of each other and delivery similar. THEN, I found WOOLWORTHS selling th same fridge $100 lower in price. So what do you reckon I did. I checked the delivery cost and … $100 or perhaps a little more. SO, can you guess where I didn’t buy it???? Clue, not from Woolies that’s for sure.
You make great points Bruce, as always. I think that maybe the people that write adverts just collect a whole lot of material from their suppliers (who are footing the cost of the advert) and bung it together without any thought. In particular, they obviously dont walk in the shoes of the prospect to try and understand the problems, questions or worries the prospect might have. If they bothered and gave really intelligent, valuable information and advice we’d all find it easier to make buying decisions. Just a word of caution Bruce… camping can be dangerous… its cold, wet and the ground is hard!
