If there’s one thing I abhor it’s lateness. I just hate being late, so I am rarely, if ever, late. I’d rather be early for an appointment and relax so that I am properly prepared for whomever I’m meeting.
However that doesn’t seem to be an accepted standard for many others in business who seem to want to make appointments which they either can’t keep or have little intention of keeping.
On three occasions in the last couple of days the people I’m to meet have been up to 20 minutes late. Even more infuriating is that none of them have apologised or given a reason!
My aim is to be on time for all appointments, regardless of which of us set the time.
For me, punctuality is a corner stone of good business!
“Punctuality is the soul of business” so said Thomas Chandler Haliburton. I don’t know who Thomas was or why he said it but it sums it up for me!
There is a creed I live by, “If you’re not early you’re late”
What an excellent adage… hadn’t heard it before but love it. Can I steal it please? Have a f-a-n-t-a-s-t-i-c day… Winno
