More than 10 years ago, Winno was quite prophetic in saying how powerful social media was becoming as a marketing tool. And yet has it become a victim of its own success? With so many social media channels, and so much content, the noise can be quite overwhelming.
Through a powerful and graphic video on YouTube, Greenpeace has managed to get the multinational Nestle company to stop using palm oil in Kit Kat bars because it is denuding the habitat of the orangutan. The lesson is quite plain… the powerful new ways each of us has to promote our causes… whether they be business or social… are potent additions to our armoury of message communication.
It’s made it easier for a David to take on and beat a Goliath.
