If you’re like most people, including me, one of the customary greetings you use when you meet somebody is “How are you?“

Now my question is a simple one.

Do you really care about their response? Do you really listen?

A crash course in cunning tactics and savvy strategies that will give your business an incredible shot in the arm... not for a day or two, but forever. Get it now!

Maybe your eyes glaze over because you suspect that they will tell you in annoying detail?

I suspect that in most cases people never really listen to the answer and couldn’t care less.

Asking “how are you?“ is a habitual ritual.

So here’s something to think about… why ask the “how are you” question at all?

Shake the habit!

Try something like, “It’s great to meet you…” or (for Victorians only!) “How are you handling the lockdown?”. West Australians might like to start with a question such as “Jeez, he’s a great Premier isn’t he?”. Maybe you could try “So, how’s your day been?”.

And then do something that’s very unusual… just look them in the eye, listen to their answer, and take the conversation from there.

Simple!
