Maybe, if God answers my prayers, as we creep out of lockdown we will see less Zoom programs and more real, in the flesh presentations. I pray for this because it seems that every presentation I attend seems to suffer from several irritating mistakes.

As steam is coming from my ears just thinking about them, I’ll be brief:

  1. Don’t have more than about 12 words on the screen (and keep the font as large as possible).
  2. Never read out the words you have on the screen. If you want to make a point, pause long enough for the average reader to take it in, then start talking.
  3. Don’t cram the screen full of pictures so small you can’t see the detail and, if you must caption them, as few words as possible is the way to go!
  4. And as I whinged about recently… start at the scheduled time. Don’t wait for laggards!
