More often than I care to remember I hear people say how rare it is when tradies return a phone call or even turn up at the time they promise.

That’s why on this Australia Day I’m proud to tell you about a young tradie who not only returned phone calls but turned up exactly when he promised.

I’m staying at John’s, my brother-in-law’s holiday place, in the foothills of the Australia Alps where good tradies are few and far between.

Knowing that he would be up here over the summer holiday break John rang a guy who fixed air conditioning. The guy promised to ring in five weeks time, when John would be there, to organise an appointment to do the job.

John never gave it another thought until he was relaxing about five weeks later and the phone rang.

And guess what?

It was the tradie ringing to make an appointment to do the job!

And second guess what?

The tradie turned up precisely at the agreed time.

Almost never happens does it? But it did that time!

So, it’s good to tell you on this Australia Day that there are some tradies who do what they promise, much to the delight of their customers! Tradies you can trust.

The question to ponder is do you keep your promises and so delight your customers? Can you be trusted?

P.S. In a light hearted mood here’s one of my favourite Aussie songs… a catchy commercial from the seventies…
