Ah, interstate travel! Hopefully I can repeat this experience soon, but I can still share the lesson I learned.
There I was at the crack of a dawn on a very sunny day on my walk along the Maroochydore boulevard on the Sunshine Coast (just to drop a name) when I saw a man wearing a tee shirt with a slogan which read “Sarcasm is another thing I give for free!”
And I wondered why the heck that man would start the day with such a slogan. Who in the world really needs sarcasm? Even more importantly, what would having to be sarcastic do for his attitude?
Upon my return to our unit on the Sunshine Coast (just to drop the name again and make you envious) I consulted my Thesaurus and found that some of the antonyms for sarcasm are approval, praise and kindness.
I wondered to myself how much better that tee shirt would’ve been as an early morning starter had it read “Ask me for approval”, “Praise is another thing I give for free!” or “Kindness is my middle name!”
If you want to do more, be more and achieve more you must read this book today!
“Fantastic” is the word I always use to describe my attitude and, hopefully, I infect other people with it too.
It all comes about because I’m a long time believer in the late Zig Ziegler’s mantra of
“It’s your attitude not your aptitude that determines your altitude!”
I reckon quite simply how you start your day determines how the day goes for you.
Sarcasm? Blah! Humbug!
Hi Winston,
How true..
Start the day well ( a positive mental attitude and gratefulness for another brand new day of opportunities and ?).
I hope you will recuperate smoothly at your Epworth hospital stay.
Kind regards to you and your loved ones at home.
Thanks Rachael and only in hospital overnight, recovered well. Always good to have great medical people on your case. Hope the new year is starting well for you.
