I guess I’m old-fashioned but I come from the school that always lets people know, if they left one, that their message had been received. In return, I always want to make sure they had received my messages so I love to get an acknowledgement.
The reason for this approach is quite simple. In the good old days when I left a phone message for someone, or when I sent a fax, when I contacted them later I was often told, “Oh I didn’t get it.“
That’s why I love acknowledgement of my messages, and why I will always acknowledge yours. Whether it be a voicemail, email or SMS you’ll know that I’ve got your message
I’d like to think I get the same acknowledgement in return.
