Melbourne museum had a bit of a coup recently when it acquired a near-complete fossil of a 67-million-year-old adult Triceratops horridus. At 87% complete, the specimen is the most complete and most finely preserved Triceratops ever found, including skin impressions and tendons, and the complete skull and spine.

It went on display at the museum a couple of weeks ago and, having had a few boys in our family, I know the appeal of dinosaurs to small fry.

That’s why I reckon the Museum’s promotion of “Kids get in free for dinosaurs at the museum” is right on the button. Lots of kids will be pestering parents to get there and pointing out the free offer so, “Mum and dad, how can you resist that?”

Who could refuse?
