You know I’ve always loved Macca’s and suggest to other small businesses that they steal the Macca’s way of doing things.

Well, maybe not steal all of their ideas but certainly use some, such as having a system for the important areas of their operations. Another one is to have a mnemonic reminding team members and customers of what’s important in their business.

In Macca’s case it is QSCV meaning quality, service, cleanliness and value. I think most people would know that’s what they can anticipate when they visit any McDonald’s store anywhere in the world.

A quick look at this photo reveals what shocked me.

You see it’s the spot in a Macca’s men’s toilet where the urinal should be. I wasn’t shocked that it needed replacement… time, vandalism and plain old wear and tear does create problems.

With the Macca’s QSCV philosophy though you’d expect it would be fixed in the blink of an eye or at least in a couple of days.

But the truth of the matter is that it’s been like that for around three months I reckon, and I just can’t believe that it’s the view males get when they walk into the toilet

The lesson for us is that if you make claims about what you deliver, make sure you move heaven and earth to deliver on it.

Frankly, I just can’t believe this sight in a McDonald’s store. By the way, I reckon they could have done much better temporarily screening off the problem area.
