This is a photo of a sign in a local fish’n chip shop window and is a real blast from the past.
By that I mean it was the type of announcement that local traders made when they wanted people flocking in to seek a part time job to earn a bit of income. But that was the “good old days” when such jobs were hard to come by.
But them there days are long gone and now there are a huge number of such vacancies seeking willing applicants, any applicants!
A case in point, is Maccas, an employer for whom young people clamour to work, just to get it in their CV’s to impress potential future employers. Now, Maccas is desperate to recruit and is promoting their work vacancies (and great terms of employment) everywhere, even including very smart notices in their premises. Need I add they are a million miles away from tatty two word notices in grubby windows.
