My wife has supported the Collingwood Football Team since the moment she was born, mainly because her father was a supporter and I think probably his father before him.
Now she won’t go to matches or watch their games on TV because she thinks she puts the “mozz” on them but she faithfully pays for membership every year. And generally, the club rewards her with a scarf, a beanie or similar but I reckon the best reward she’s had was by way of a personally addressed email from the captain, Scott Pendlebury.
I’ve reproduced it below so you can see why it scores full points from me. It’s the things like coming from his email address, personally addressed to Lauris, a great subject line, being written in personal “me-to-you” style… and no appeal for money!
Full marks to the marketing team at the club… and I hate saying that, mainly coz as a Bombers supporter, I love any team but Collingwood!
