The other day I wanted to make a booking for lunch at a great Vietnamese restaurant I’d been introduced to by friends. Naturally, I chose to do so at their web site and expected the normal mundane “name, rank and serial number” type form you normally get.

But, just like the great food at the restaurant, boy was I in for a surprise! Here’s what they hit me with at their website after I’d made the booking.

Great questions to ask, answers that will help them build their marketing database.

But, have a look at that last of the five info seeker statements… asking whether you’d like to upload a photo “so we can greet you upon your arrival”.

What a great idea, fantastic in fact! Especially when you realise that number 1 of the top 3 things people want when they do business with you is “Make me feel welcome!”

And, boy, that sure as heck makes people feel especially welcome!

By the way, the name of that great restaurant where the food matches the service? QT in Glen Iris, Melbourne.
